Design standard of Typical detail & tolerances of backing ring with connection pieces. Use this standard for study purposes only.
General Notes:
- See exchanger drawing for any exception, dimensions and material specification
- Backing ring to be cut after machining
- Tapped holes in connecting pieces to be located from backing ring before backing ring is cut. Holes to be tapped to suit floating head flange bolts.
- Connecting pieces shall have:
- 4 tapped holes for backing rings with 20 or more bolt holes
- 2 tapped holes for backing rings with less than 20 bolt holes
- Thickness of connecting pieces to be equal to diameter of floating head flange bolts
- Vendor may use his standard backing ring device, however subject to Company approval
