BN-DS-B1 Design standard, fencing for transformer yards

Design standard for fencing of transformer yards. The design standard is for study purposes only.

General requirements:

  1. All dimensions in mm unless stated otherwise
  2. Left right : fence seen from outside
  3. Frame airtight welded
  4. Thickness of welds (throat) 3 mm minimum, all welds shall be continuous
  5. Service Treatment: all steel members such as pipes, steelplates and strips shall be derusted and cleanded by means of pickling
  6. Frame, post, inserts and all other steel parts shall be hot dipped galvanized (450 gr./m2) after fabrication
  7. Anchor bolts for base plates will be supplied by others

Materials:

  • Mesh: plastified, galvanized cyclone fencing wire 3 mm mesh 50 x 50 mm
  • Post: steel pipe, ANSI 2.5" schedule 40, DIN 2448 : 76 diameter
  • Frames: steel pipe, ANSI 1.5" schedule 40, DIN 2448 : 42.4 diameter
  • Pipes: quality ST.00
  • Bolts: quality 4.6
  • Nuts: quality 4.6
  • Plates and strips: ST.33
