1. General
This section covers the calibration, maintenance, storage, identification, marking and registration of inspection, measuring and test equipment.
It also provides direction for the maintenance of calibration control records.
2. Calibration
Company shall require that measuring inspection and test equipment used by suppliers and subcontractors be calibrated, identified and registered.
Measuring and test equipment owned by Company and used for accurate purposes shall be calibrated, identified and registered.
Re-calibration of any equipment may be required if damage occurs to the item or variations are observed in the inspection or testing process, that indicate loss of calibration.
lf any doubt arises as to the accuracy of any equipment, or should a client representative, regulatory body or third party agency so request, it shall be re-calibrated immediately in order to avoid any further doubt and/or discussion.
The handling, preservation and storage of the equipment shall be such that the accuracy and fitness for use is maintained.
The equipment should be safeguarded from adjustment by unauthorized persons to avoid invalidation of the calibration.
Employees‘ privately owned equipment shall not be used for inspection and testing unless it has been registered and calibrated.

3. Calibration Records
Equipment calibration register shall be established for monitoring the calibrations of the equipment. These records shall show the following as a minimum:
- the equipment identification number
- the Manufacturers name. type and serial number (if any)
- the equipment description
- the current calibration interval
- the next calibration due date
- repair history
- issue date and to which individual/department
Calibration certificates and reports shall be maintained on file.
