1. General

This section covers the identification and traceability of materials supplied by suppliers and subcontractors for the work. The identification and traceability of Company products in the form of data and documentation is covered in section 10, "Document Control".

2. Marking

Marking in the form of stamps, color codes, labels, tags or similar methods shall be applied, as appropriate, to all materials and equipment in order to identify and trace it for its intent, ownership, purpose, location and if necessary, in relation to reference documents, such as purchase orders, drawings and certificates.

The degree of traceability required shall be determined based on:

  • specific client requirements
  • the special nature of the material and/or equipment and/or its service

The selected degree of traceability required to be maintained by the suppliers and subcontractors shall be stipulated in the purchase order and subcontract documents.

These activities and the methods used shall be verified by Company's inspection and/or construction personnel as appropriate. (See sections 14 and 15).
